Another Pre WW Recipe

I found another recipe floating around here that I never got to post. Just looking at it I think I gained 5 pounds. If you've bought this, yet then you may have already made it! If you haven't bought it, go buy it now. It is currently my coffee table book. Oh yes I did.

If I can't eat it, I might as well look at the pictures, right?

Food P@rn.

Anyway, the recipe you're looking for is on page 226-227. And for those of you that don't have the book? I'll do you a favor.

Perfect Potatoes Au Gratin

What you need-
2 tbs butter, softened
4 large potatoes, cleaned
1/4 c whole milk
1 1/2 c heavy cream (hang with me ya'll it's not something you'd eat every day anyway!)
2 tbs AP flour
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp salt
Pepper
1 c grated sharp Cheddar cheese
2 green onions, thinly sliced

Variation-Dice/warm up some ham (in this case, it was the day after Easter, so we had the good stuff) and throw it in with the potatoes.

I die.

Oh, Hi horrible awful bad kitchen lighting!

What you do-
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Butter a baking dish with the butter. Dice up the potatoes into bite sized pieces. Combine the milk and cream in a bowl. Add in the flour, minced garlic, and the salt and some pepper. Whisk together until well incorporated. Throw the diced up potatoes (and ham!) into the buttered baking dish and pour this mixture over top. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake 20 more minutes. Just before serving, throw the cheese on top and stick it in the oven under the broiler for a couple of minutes. Garnish with green onions.

Thank you Pioneer Woman for adding 23,734 pounds to my thighs.
