German Chocolate Cake Bars

I was going through my photos earlier looking for some blog post inspiration and stumbled upon this. I made these a while back. Lord knows I can't eat them these days. They'd surely be 17 WW points for a nibble.

German Chocolate Cake Bars

What you need-

Crust-
1 box devil's food cake mix (the kind that doesn't have pudding added)
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg

Filling-
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup sweetened! shredded coconut
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

What you do-

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. In a medium bowl, mix together the cake mix, butter and egg, and press into the bottom of the prepared pan. The crust won't come up the sides. Bake for 7 minutes and remove from the oven. The crust isn't fully cooked! While the crust is baking, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, egg, pecans and coconut. Pour the mixture over the warm crust and sprinkle evenly with the chocolate chips. Bake for 30ish minutes, until the top is a light golden brown. Remove from the oven and cool before cutting into squares.

Enjoy with a huge glass of milk.

And eat one for me too!
