White Beans & Ham (Crock Pot)

Growing up, my grandma used to make beans and cornbread for dinner, weekly. She'd always use pinto beans and bacon. I found this recipe and changed it up a bit.

So good. Especially for a cold day!

White Beans & Ham

What you need-
16 oz dried northern beans
16 oz ham steak (I used Smithfield)
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
6 cups water
Salt and pepper

What you do-
Rinse the beans in a colander. Trim some of the fat off of the steak. It'll have plenty of flavor without all of it. Add all ingredients into a crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours. My crock pot is overly efficient so it didn't take as long. You want the beans tender. Remove the ham bone.

Serve with cornbread.

8 pp for 6 servings.
