The Great Debate

I wouldn't call it a debate really, but it's definitely a heated conversation that Chris and I have at least monthly.

Monthly. At least.

For the last year.

That's at least twelve times that I know of.

The topic of the debate?

Chris has been wanting an iPhone for over a year. He deserves one. He works his butt off. And what's his job description? iPhone techical support. Duh. Wouldn't you think the person who is helping you with your iPhone would have their own iPhone?

Not necessarily. Chris has had the same phone for three years, and it's not an iPhone. His still works, but it's definitely time for him to get a new one!

But I'm stubborn. I've been with Verizon for years. Really. I don't have one complaint. The service is great and I always know exactly how much my bill is going to be from month to month.  Hello budget!

Long story short, my contract with Verizon isn't up until January...Not cool, only because that's six months after the release of the iPhone 4...and six months before the next iPhone will probably be released next summer. So, I just keep telling Chris to wait until January and get one then. No! He said if he has to wait until January to get one then he might as well just wait until next summer when the next iPhone is released. Therefore he won't have a phone for 6 months.

Aye ay aye

I really don't have a leg to stand on in this argument because the pros out-weigh the cons.

I hate my current phone and I know I'd like the iPhone. I don't need to be talked into that...It's the matter of breaking my contract, and then paying gobs of money up front for both of us to get iPhones...

Or I could keep going with my Verizon until the contract is up and Chris could go ahead and get his iPhone. Therefore, paying two seperate cell phone bills for the next 6 months. But, wouldn't it be cheaper to break the contract than to pay 6 more month's of bills?

And then there is the matter of AT&T. I know their coverage isn't nearly as good around here as Verizon is.

Can you tell why we've been having this debate for a year now?

Did I mention Chris gets a discount on the monthly bill whenever he does get an iPhone?

He'll be getting it sooner rather than later I am certain.
