In All Seriousness-

Chris had his second check-up on Tuesday. Last week he went in and had a chest x-ray (he gets one every two months) and then this Tuesday he went in for the results and bloodwork. We love Dr. K, he's so thorough.

I asked Chris after he got his x-ray if we were going to get really nervous before each check-up. He said, "Yep." I feel bad being nervous around him because I know he needs to be surrounded with positivity but it did secretly make me feel better to know that he was nervous for the results as well.

I'm glad to say there is nothing to worry about! His chest x-ray came back normal and so did his blood work.

When we were talking to Dr. K. on Tuesday, he said a couple of different times, "It (the cancer) shouldn't come back. It's gone." I know hearing that from him made Chris feel better. Chris did get a little chastised for not doing a monthly self-exam. I was like, "Didn't you learn your lesson Chris?!"  And Dr. K. started laughing and agreeing with me. It honestly hadn't even occurred to me that Chris wouldn't be making sure that everything was okay down there!

It seriously is such a big deal for both men and women, to do self-exams. I can't tell you how many times someone has come up to us and told us about someone they know who was just diagnosed with testicular cancer. I'm talking young guys, younger than Chris. I can't imagine.

Sometimes it still doesn't feel like he went through the diagnosis, surgery, and chemo in just two months.

The moral of this story is to do the self-exams, and if something doesn't seem right then get it checked out!
