So, I took pages and pages of notes during the class. And I've been looking over them ever since.
She had the two hour class broken down into three parts. We talked about ISO (I get it!), aperture (now makes so much more sense), and shutter speed (still struggling with this a bit). The thing I liked most about the class was that she gave us little assignments to do for each part and we'd go take a few pictures while adjusting the ISO, aperture, or shutter speed and we'd all come back and talk about what we found. It was kind of like learning from our own mistakes, but with some guidance.
And the best part? She told us how she shoots, what she keeps her aperture at mostly, and ISO, depending on lighting. Great tips.
Three out of her five kids did make an appearance and I got to say hi to Stellan, because he jumped into her lap while I was asking a question.
She also told me what lens is best to get right off the bat. It turns out to be the same one that everyone else is telling me about so that's going in the wish list.
Now I'm mostly trying to figure out how to put all three things together. I took my camera out this weekend and practiced a bit.
And I just like taking pictures of flowers apparently. So there.
It's finally making sense. And I will totally be taking another class from her once I get a little more practice in.
Totally.
