TN BBQ

I'm from Texas, born and raised.

Chris is from Tennessee, born and raised.

Our definition of "BBQ" is completely different. In TN it's all about the pork. In Texas we all know it's about the beef brisket.

Needless to say, we can't agree on anywhere to eat BBQ. I don't like pork. Or "pulled pork" as it's called. He doesn't like brisket. He thinks it's too dry and blah blah blah.

Did I mention it's kind of hard to even find a place down here to get pulled pork? Aw, too bad Chris. Well, I was feeling bad the other day because he'd been talking about it for a while so I decided to do some research.

I made up a recipe and made the boy some...

Pulled Pork
What you need:
2 lb pork shoulder
1 tbs. Montreal steak seasoning
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cayenne
2 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water
Oh and you need a crock pot. Mix the dry ingredients well.
Now, throw in the w. sauce. I didn't get a pic of that. Slather one side of the pork with this mixture.
Now, lay that side down into the crock pot.
And cover this side with the marinade. At this point, I covered the dish and let it marinate in the fridge overnight.

At 7:30 the next morning, I turned the crock pot on low, added the water, and then pretty much left it for 4-5 hours. I turned the pork shoulder over after about 4 hours and let it go for another few hours.
Then, it was done. You can tell when it's done because it literally, falls off the bone.
It was very moist, but feel free to slather some BBQ sauce on it.

Did I mention Chris dislikes BBQ sauce? Like, it's hilarious how much he hates it. That's another reason he has a problem with "dry brisket". I love me some BBQ sauce so it's not a problem with me!
