Why I Blog

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback on my last blog :)


I've been writing this post in my head since not long after I started blogging. Why I blog. I guess the easiest way to put it is-

I blog for me.

I don't try and blog for other people's entertainment. If they find what I say amusing and decide to "follow" my blog that's just great. But I don't write for them. I don't care how many "followers" I have. It doesn't matter. I know people out there read who aren't "followers". I don't need that number to be 76093 in order for me to feel the need to blog.

In the beginning the blog was for Chris and his battle. Now that we're over the worst part of that thankyouJesus! , the blog has turned more into "my" blog. 

My recipes, my photos, and my writing.

Take it or leave it, I don't care.

Never say never but I probably won't ever host a giveaway. That's not why I blog. Now I may enter a giveaway every once in a while, but I'm not going to "follow" that blog unless I genuinely like what the blogger has to say on an every day basis. I won't follow just to enter for a one time contest type thing.

At some point, if the whole photography thing ever works out for me, I think it would be awesome for people to find me via this blog and I think it's a great way to showcase any photos that I do take. Free advertisement? Yes please. I like that I can post pictures that I am taking now, and then years from now post pictures that are more professional and see how I've grown in that respect. I think it'll be fun.

I don't blog every day, but it's nice to know that I can always look here and see what I was up to on September 12, 2010.

Whether I'm sharing a new recipe that someone has shared with me, or if I'm complaining about sitting at home alone on a Friday night, or showing pictures of my perfectly awesome family, this is my blog and I'm blogging for me.
